23 sealed indictments issued
The Upshur Counnty Grand Jury returned 25 indictments, of which 23 were sealed, when it met on July 8.
There were were also two no bills and two cases passed.
Named in an unsealed indictment was April Michelle Gordon, 29, Big Sandy, theft of a firearm, a state jail felony. Her bond was set at $5,000.
Also named in an unsealed indictment was Mary M. Hill, 41, Gladewater, theft of property between $50 and $500 in value (enhanced), a state jail felony. Her bond was set at $5,000.
Another theft case was no-billed. Also no-billed was a forgery case.
A theft case was passed. Also passed was a retaliation case.
Sealed indictments included:
• Sexual assault of a child (two).
• Burglary of a building (three).
• Burglary of a habitation (three).
• Theft of a firearm, one.
• Retaliation (enhanced), one
• Attempted aggravated kidnapping, one.
• Fraudulent use of identifying information, two.
• Escape, one.
• Theft of property between $1,500 and $20,000 in value, two.
• Theft of property between $20,000 and $100,000 in value, one.
• Theft of property between $$500 and $1,500 in value, enhanced, one.
• Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, three.
• Fraudulent use of identifying information,one.
• Credit card abuse, one.
• Evading arrest, one.
• Securing execution of document by deception, one.
