Man arrested for shooting three others with shotgun

An Ore City man has been charged in a shooting which occurred June 13, Upshur County Sheriff Anthony Betterton said.

Betterton said that just before midnight on June 13, Deputy David Thompson and Sgt. Wade Davis responded to a shooting on Cornflower Road near Ore City.

“Officers met with a victim, Jonathan Douglas Standley, a 21-year-old Ore City man, who said that he had been shot in the back with what appeared to be bird shot from a shotgun,” Betterton said.

A short time later, investigator Chase Mullins was called to the scene to investigate, Betterton said.

“During this investigation, Mullins learned that two other people had also been struck by the gun fire,” Betterton said.

They were Richard Lamb, 19, and Christopher James Bass, 20, both of Ore City.

Sheriff Betterton said that the shooting stemmed from a disturbance that occurred in Marion County earlier in the day. There were no life-threatening injuries and the case is currently under investigation.

Suspect Brendan Dale Robinson, 17, also of Ore City, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and his bond was set at $50,000. He is currently in the Upshur County Jail, Betterton said.
