ENJOYING A SWIM at Lake Gilmer Park Tuesday (July 1) are Elizabeth Bass, left, kicking the water as Chris Bass raises their daughter, Emerald, high overhead. Taylor Armstrong, their niece from Forney who is out for the holidays, joins in the swim. The park was completed last September, but the opening was not publicized at the time due to the construction on Cherokee Trace.
