Yamboree Association makes donation to playground project

THE EAST TEXAS Yamboree Association has made a $20,000 donation to the Gilmer Community Playgound Project. Here, this year’s Yamboree president, Mike Melton, presents playground project coordinator Robyn Haba with the check at the entrance to the Yamboree Park. “We are postponing the build date to early May,” Mrs. Haba said. “We were short on funds, but this donation has gotten us to where we can order the materials to begin building the playground.” There are still naming gifts available for those who want to buy pieces of playground equipment, and gifts of all sizes are still needed to put the fund drive finally over the top.
